The Best Places to Play Pickleball in Metro Atlanta

If you’re one of the many Atlanta-area residents who has discovered the fun of pickleball, you know it’s about much more than just hitting a ball over a net. It’s social, active, easy to learn, and a great way to meet people in your community. And since we first published our guide to the best places to play pickleball in Atlanta a few years ago, the local pickleball scene has changed a lot.

There are now dedicated indoor pickleball clubs, new public courts, more organized open play, and plenty of options for everyone from beginners to experienced players. Whether you are looking for a place close to home, or simply want to try somewhere new, there’s no shortage of courts to choose from.

Alpharetta:

• Atlanta National Pickleball Club: If you’re looking for a pickleball experience that feels more like a destination, Atlanta National Pickleball Club is hard to beat. Located in Alpharetta, ANPC features 18 climate-controlled indoor courts, along with a full-service restaurant and bar, locker rooms, wellness amenities, lessons, clinics, tournaments, and social events.

• North Park Tennis & Pickleball Center: Located inside Alpharetta’s North Park, this public facility offers dedicated pickleball courts, lighting for evening play, and a steady stream of players. The park itself has plenty to do before or after a game, making it a great choice for an active afternoon.
  

• Webb Bridge Park: Another great Alpharetta option is Webb Bridge Park, which has dedicated outdoor pickleball courts and a reputation for active open play. It's a good spot if you enjoy meeting other players and jumping into a game rather than scheduling every match in advance. Like many popular public courts, it can get busy during peak times, so going during less crowded hours can make for an easier experience.
  

Johns Creek

• Newtown Park: The park has six dedicated pickleball courts and has established designated open-play periods to make it easier for players to find a game. And, of course, Newtown Park offers much more than pickleball, including walking trails, tennis, playgrounds, and other recreational amenities.
  

• Cauley Creek: The park has five outdoor pickleball courts, along with walking trails, athletic fields, and other amenities. The modern park setting makes this a particularly nice choice when you want to make an afternoon of it.

Peachtree Corners:

• Lifetime Fitness: The racquet-focused LifeTime location has a very large indoor/outdoor pickleball program, with organized play, lessons, leagues and court reservations. Peachtree Corners Magazine recently named it the area's #1 pickleball facility and reports roughly 30 indoor and outdoor pickleball courts.
  

• Lucky Shoals Park: Just outside Peachtree Corners, this is one of the better options if you don't want a private-club membership.
  

Cumming:

• The Picklr: The club has seven dedicated indoor courts and offers open play, leagues, clinics, tournaments, and court reservations. It’s also a good choice for players who want to improve their game through structured programming.
  

• Coal Mountain Park: This park has dedicated outdoor pickleball courts with lighting for evening play. Because these are purpose-built pickleball courts rather than simply tennis courts with pickleball lines added, they’re especially appealing to regular players.
  

• Fowler Park: Another popular Forsyth County option is Fowler Park, which has dedicated pickleball courts within the larger park complex. It's a great choice for a casual game and offers the convenience of having plenty of other recreation options nearby.

Chamblee/Brookhaven:

• ITP Pickleball Club: One of the newer additions to the Atlanta pickleball scene is ITP Pickleball Club, located near the I-85/I-285 interchange. The indoor facility has 11 courts and offers court reservations, open play, clinics, tournaments, and social events.

• Ashford Park: This park Brookhaven opened its first standalone dedicated pickleball court here in October 2025. Reservations can be made online.
  

• Lynwood Park: This park has 2 outdoor courts with permanent pickleball lines overlaid on a tennis court. They're free to play, and reservations are available.

  
  

Sandy Springs/Dunwoody:

• Marcus JCC: The Marcus JCC of Atlanta has become a major pickleball destination in Dunwoody, with 15 dedicated courts—11 of which are covered. The facility offers open play, leagues, lessons, ladders, tournaments, and other programming, making it a particularly good option for players who want to play regularly and get involved in a pickleball community.
  

• Sandy Springs Racquet Center: The Sandy Springs Racquet Center is another excellent public option, particularly for those living around Sandy Springs and the Perimeter. In addition to its tennis facilities, the center offers a large number of pickleball courts and programming, including organized mixers and open play.
  

• Hammond Park: The park has become a popular spot for pickleball open play, with designated courts and a paddle-rack system that helps organize rotations. It's particularly popular with players who enjoy the social side of the game.

Lastly, If you're looking for something a little different, check out The Painted Pickle in Armour Yards. This isn't your traditional pickleball club. It's part pickleball facility, part restaurant and bar, and part social entertainment venue. You can play a few games and then stay for food, drinks, and other games.
